Fiat and Mazda have announced that they will co-develop a platform to be shared by a new Alfa Romeo roadster and the new Mazda MX-5. The latest gossip indicates that the Alfa will be called Duetto, and powered by a 1.8-litre turbocharged engine. The targeted kerb weight is under 1,050kg, making the car very agile and responsive.
